WHILL, a designer of personal mobility products based in San Francisco and Japan, has raised an $11 million Series A round from Innovation Network Corp500 StartupsNTT DoCoMo VenturesJochu Technology, and Sun Microsystems co-founderScott McNealy.

WHILL has created a high-performance alternative to a wheelchair with omnidirectional capacity and four-wheel-drive.

Winner of 2012 TechCrunch Tokyo, WHILL sells its Model A devices for $9500 each and will use the new funding to produce more units and unveil a new model
